Addiction is a disease of the mind,
body and spirit. Charlie’s Place offers treatment that begins to
repair damage to all three areas and equips the client for a journey
of personal growth and wellness that continues long after the
treatment process is complete. To design our program, we used
research gained from working with this specific population for
decades, and we know from experience the power of compassion and
understanding. |

Medical Detoxification Treatment Cost: $350/ day |
|
|
|
If you are currently using drugs or alcohol and are unable to stop
without withdrawal symptoms, you may be in need of medical
detoxification. Withdrawal symptoms will vary depending on the
substance being used but can include nausea, vomiting, tremors, body
pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, chills, intense cravings,
seizures and in severe cases even death. These symptoms can begin in
a very short time after last use of the substance.
Charlie's Place
offers a medically supervised detoxification program that lasts
approximately 5 to 14 days, depending on the substance(s) being
used. Clients are seen by a physician and placed on a medication
protocol that is designed to allow them to safely withdraw from
whatever substance(s) they have been using. The medications are
gradually decreased during the course of the treatment, so that the
client is able to be free of all substances with a minimum of
discomfort by the time of discharge.
**Buprenorphine services for opoid dependence are available at
additional cost**
To make an appointment for a screening for this level of care, call (361) 883-4994.

Intensive Residential Treatment Cost: $4,500 ($150/day) |
|
|
|
If you have stopped using drugs or alcohol but have problems remaining sober, you may need Intensive Residential treatment.
At this level of care you will stay at our facility for approximately 14 to 35 days and will attend a full schedule of groups and
classes led by our experienced counselors.
Intensive Residential is designed to educate the client about the dynamics of addiction
and the recovery process and to bring about behavior and lifestyle changes needed for maintaining recovery, developing a support
system, and other life skills necessary to help the client live sober and drug free.
This level of care is where the changes begin to happen. Within a short time the family will usually notice marked
differences in mood, behavior and motivation that are often not even evident to the client. These are the early signs of
recovery from addiction, and they are nurtured and built upon to create a foundation for a new and exciting life of freedom
from drugs and alcohol.
Please call 361-883-8109, extension 120 for admissions.

Counseling |
|
|
|
Although Charlie's Place does not offer counseling outside of treatment,
our Family Counseling program offers counseling for
parents, spouses and children of clients currently in treatment.
This is to facilitate an easier transition back to the family for
the recovering person leaving treatment.
Charlie's Place offers outpatient counseling for the addict
(there is no family component). In that program, clients attend a
two-hour group meeting two nights per week and receive at least one
hour of individual counseling monthly, more often if needed. The
outpatient treatment is just for the addict; there is no family
component.
